ABOUT BEING A GREAT COACH
-
My goal is to be a GREAT COACH. Good just won't do it for me.
-
I am a full time golf coach and have been for 15 years. This is not something I do on the side.
-
I consider it a privilege to work with you on your golf game. I take your trust in me very serious.
-
I have plenty of trophies from my competitive playing days; now it's about YOU!
-
I believe that people have within them a much greater ability to change and improve than they think.
-
I care deeply about my students reaching their goals.
-
When I start working with serious students, I AM ALL IN!
-
The combination of student and coach working together toward a common goal leads to success.
-
If you trust me to help you, you can improve.
-
If you no longer trust me to help, it is time to find another coach that you do trust to help you.
-
I believe that coaching requires much more than being a good golfer or understanding the golf swing.
-
I believe that learning to be a great coach takes time: perhaps 10 years or more.
-
I strive to be the best coach I can each and every day.
-
I am committed to constant learning: from other great coaches as well as from students.
-
I never give up on a student. They may decide that the effort isn't worth it, but I don't give up.
-
Once we start working together, you, not me, will define success.
ABOUT LEARNING WITH MARK POLICH
-
My goal for you is LASTING IMPROVEMENT.
-
I focus on helping you learn skills and understanding, not swing theories and positions.
-
I don't teach band aid fixes: they don't last.
-
Coaching sessions are about you. I won't hit many balls, if any.
-
I use technologyto make learning easier for you which speeds up the improvement process.
-
The primary technology I use is TrackMan because I prefer to rely on facts, not opinion
-
When it comes to DISTANCE, CLUB SPEED RULES
-
When it comes to DIRECTION, CLUB FACE RULES.
-
I use video technology when appropriate.
-
Since we are unique, I teach each student differently.
-
I rely on the BioSwing Dynamic Model to help me understand what your body is capable of.
-
I do not teach students to swing like any touring professional. We are all unique.
-
You don't choose your swing, it chooses you.
-
I help you learn YOUR BEST SWING.
-
I believe that the golf swing is a syncronized motion involving the body, arms, hands, and club.
-
I spend less time telling you what to do & more time helping you understand what's happening.
-
In addition to helping you understand, I provide options you have for improving your results.
-
I strongly believe that improvement is a process that takes time and patience.
-
Tinkering with your swing is a good way to get lost and significantly reduce your improvement.
